One week. One city. One powerful cohort of changemakers.

What Is the Future Achievers Forum?

The Future Achievers Forum is Canada’s premier national, in-person leadership summit for Black and Indigenous youth. In partnership with the University of Ottawa, we bring together 10-15 emerging changemakers from across the country for a week of learning, self-reflection, and community connection in Ottawa.

All travel, accommodations, and meals are fully covered — so participants can focus on what matters most: growing, building, and leading.

We learn by doing, equipping youth with the tools to lead from where they are — while building lasting relationships with peers, mentors, and movement leaders.

Each year is guided by a powerful theme:

  • 2023: Honouring land, legacy, and leadership

  • 2024: Advancing systems change through joy, resistance, and storytelling

  • 2025: Shared histories, leadership, and shaping tomorrow together

Now in its third year, the Future Achievers Forum has supported 24 youth leaders across 8 provinces.

In Their Own Words

“I expected the workshops to be fully academic but they weren't. They allowed for the expression of creativity and personal meaning and I appreciated that. Everyone's ideas were always respected.”

“I learned the definition of intersectionality and positionality, two words I had only heard of and never knew what they meant.”

- 2023 Participant (Grade 10)

“ I learned community comes in different forms. Being oppressed can create community and being liberated can create community. I learned community is a choice in which people have to actively work towards”
